“The reality today in Gaza is that there is not much humanity left and hell is settling in.”

The Facts

WHAT is happening in Palestine?

Israel is currently indiscriminately bombing a civilian population — 50% of whom are children. Israel has repeatedly bombed hospitals, refugee sites, ambulances, medical workers, and the press. They have also denied civilians in Gaza access to electricity, food, water and even medicine.

In addition to carpet bombing Gaza – a strip of land the size of Delaware – and making over one million civilians homeless, Israel is now causing Palestinians to die from dehydration and starvation, and endure surgeries ranging from C-sections to amputations without anesthesia.

WHAT happened before October 7th?

Over the last several decades, Israel has maintained an “institutionalized and prolonged racist oppression of millions of people” (Amnesty International). It has been condemned over 45 times by the United Nations Human Rights Council for seizing Palestinian land, unlawful killings, forcible transfer, and the denial of basic rights to self determination.

Israel routinely abuses Palestinian civilians, takes children prisoner (Israel currently has over 160 Palestinian children in Israeli prisons), and maintains a system of oppression that denies Palestinians every right of basic humanity.

HOW are US taxpayer dollars involved?

The United States alone committed over $3.3 billion in foreign assistance to Israel in 2022, the most recent year for which data exists.[1] About $8.8 million went towards the country's economy, while 99.7% of the aid went to the Israeli military. These are our tax dollars being deployed to kill innocent civilians.

Adjusting for inflation, US aid to Israel from 1951 to 2022 totaled $317.9 billion, making it the largest recipient of American foreign aid since World War II.

Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS)

Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) is a Palestinian-led movement for freedom, justice and equality. BDS upholds the simple principle that Palestinians are entitled to the same rights as the rest of humanity.

Israel is occupying and colonising Palestinian land, discriminating against Palestinian citizens of Israel and denying Palestinian refugees the right to return to their homes. Inspired by the South African anti-apartheid movement, the BDS call urges action to pressure Israel to comply with international law.

BDS is now a vibrant global movement made up of unions, academic associations, churches and grassroots movements across the world. Since its launch in 2005, BDS is having a major impact and is effectively challenging international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.
